Just an amusing little "Scharaeism" from this week:
You know that hand-down-the-front-of-the-shirt habit many babies and young toddlers have? The one where it's like there's a magnet down inside mama's shirt that just attracts the kid's hand all.the.time...
Scharae is 5.5 and has never lost that habit. Last Saturday morning we were hanging out in bed as a family chatting and watching Bones. Scharae was busy patting and squeezing my boob, then she'd lean over and give it a kiss and go back to patting it. Eventually I asked her "Scharae, you like my breasts, don't you?" And true to her inquisitive nature she answered with "What do you MEAN, Mom???" I pointed out she's always patting them and kissing them.
At that point she turned red (probably one of the first/few times I've seen her outwardly appear embarrassed) and buried her face in the pillows. Finally she sat up and said in a very small and wistful voice "It's just...they're so much BIGGER than mine..."
There you have it. Boob envy at age 5.

that is all Lucy talks about and it worries me a little. she keeps telling me that when she is big like me she will have big boobs like me. she does the same thing, rubbing and patting, I am getting a little annoyed and weirded out by this and was wondering if any other moms have to deal with this too...
that's the weirdest/cutest/funniest thing ever! i seriously can't stop giggling ;)
oh my gosh... this is SOOO funny!!!
I am dying...that is too funny!!
LOL! That reminds me of when I was teaching preschool I had a little girl who's dad was in Iraq for a year. He came home and I asked her, "Did your Daddy tell you how much bigger you are?" She said, "Yes," and pointed to her body saying,"my feet are bigger, my arms are bigger, my head is bigger, but these (pointing to her chest) aren't bigger yet." It was too funny! Scharae and her must think alike!
This is hilarious! I'm glad she at least knows the correct terminology. Adelle still calls mine, "milkers."
