Home again

Grandma and Grandpa's pool is heavenly. We could live there at the pool all summer. Both of the girls are swimming now!!!  Scharae mostly is swimming underwater which is how I started out my swimming skills. She is quite the diving board fiend now. At the start of today she would only jump over the edge if she could touch but all on her own she would move two steps farther and farther out until she got to the board and discovered how much fun it could be!

Take a look at these next pictures. They are not staged. They are a testament to my occasional negligence as a parent. Oops.

What is missing?  Oh yeah. The water wings. Scharae was wanting pictures done on the diving board and Keira had been in the house for a few minutes and came out wanting pictures. Nevermind the water wings sitting 5 feet away. I didn't even clue in to the fact that she was in deep water with no floating help until she had resurfaced and was starting to realize it herself. The good news? She made it to the edge of the pool on her own. Now that she's gotten over the experience she is quite proud of herself. By the time I got them out of the pool she had started getting in the pool by the diving board (no more jumping without the wings, though) and swimming the whole length of the pool with absolutely no trouble!  Still mostly a doggy paddle. But that's better than nothing, and is a great place to start!

This last picture shows about how Scharae is feeling now. I think she is allergic to eastern Washington. We've ended up in the ER once or twice during visits and EVERY time we go I end up kicking myself for not bringing the nebulizer.
