Today was a beautiful day out on the coast! Mom and I loaded the girls up and headed out with our buckets and shovels, kites, chairs and of course, goggles.
There was the perfect breeze to keep one of the kites up just barely for the girls-this was their first time flying one, I think! They braved the cold water and swam in the shortest river in the world-and actually they never even went to the actual ocean part. Much easier to keep an eye on them at the river instead of the waves!
They dug a hole until they found water. And then filled it with more water. Keira made a friend who had the same swimsuit as her-but she never found out her name. Guess we need to work on some of the more subtle social graces! After all the fun at the beach we went and had a nice late lunch at McMenamins in Lincoln City.
Thanks for coming to the beach with us, Nana! Next time we see how many dogs we can squish into your 'burban and take them swimming!

What a fun day! Oh and my kids totally do that too. "We made a new friend!" "What was her name?" "I don't know." (said with a tone that means, 'these things do not matter when you are true friends!')
