zoo

Yesterday we took the girls to the zoo for the first time. We decided to get a membership and just jump right in with both feet-places like that with lots of people/stimulation are NOT their forte! It went well. keira needs to work on her zoo behaviour, but Scharae was happy as a clam to just walk around and look at everything so long as no one got in her way Keira...the second we got to one animal she needed to be on to the next one without even bothering to look at the first!

First we drove to John's work and parked in the parking garage. From there we took the train (transit train) to the zoo. This was Keira's first time on a train that she can really remember well and she was enthralled! I don't really have many pictures of them with the animals, because, well, you can't really see the animals if you're trying to take pictures of the girls. But here's what I have:

The girls on the elephant's circus trike:

Looking at the hippos-this is the only place Keira stopped long enough to see anything! She had to sing them "Tomorrow" from Annie

Scharae was happy to look at the hippos for all day if K would have let her! She was singing London Bridges to them

We got to gon on a zoo train for free because of our membership and because we rode the public transit to get there instead of parking. Here's John and the girls:

Scharae on the train-complete with one of her everpresent pairs of sunglasses:

Keira and John watching the scenery:

Me and Scharae:

Then we rode the train back to the city. Keira had to sit over by herself (for about 30 seconds ):

Scharae wasn't too sure about the starting and stopping of the train, though:
